Habitation Inspection

It is important to have an annual habitation inspection on you caravan or motorhome to ensure your leisure vehicle operates at its optimum performance at all times. This will also highlight any issues the vehicle may have.

DRC works hard to ensure your leisure vehicle operates at it’s optimum performance at all times, and we always recommend that our customers have an annual caravan or motorhome habitation inspection.

Our services are carried out at our on-site workshop by a team of fully trained and experienced service technicians. DRC can service and maintain every aspect of your caravan or motorhome.

We are certified to the highest industry standards, and make sure we are working to current industry regulations and guidelines.

Our habitation inspections consists of a multi-point check, which includes a gas installation safety check, electrical systems check, 12v & 240v, water systems check, and a full damp check.

We politely ask that all vehicles are empty prior to an inspection – this helps our technicians work more thoroughly and efficiently.

What is included in a motorhome and caravan habitation service?

  • The operation and safety of all appliances.
  • 240-volt electrical system, including inlet, sockets, RCD, wiring, etc.
  • 12v electrical system, including lighting, sockets, fuses, wiring, etc.
  • Leisure battery condition and charging.
  • Gas installation safety check, including cylinder security, regulator and hose expiry dates, pipe work and manifolds, drop holes and ventilation.
  • Water System: water heater (gas & electric), freshwater tank and wastewater tank, internal water pump, plumbing, taps, sensors, inlet, and outlets.
  • Cassette Toilet, operation, and lubrication.
  • Carbon Monoxide and Smoke alarm should be checked.
  • Windows, blinds, stays, and catches.
  • Damp check with a full report

Caravan chassis service

  • In addition to above
  • Tyres and wheel condition, including age.
  • Brakes, shoes and drums, bearings, and seals.
  • Hand brake and brake rod.
  • Hitch, hitch pads and ball-acting stabiliser.
  • Drawbar operation and lubrication.
  • Breakaway cable and clip condition and security.
  • Chassis to body security
  • Corner steadies.
