Caravan & Motorhome Service and Repair Workshop
These Terms and Conditions apply to all servicing, repairs, inspections, installations, and related work carried out by Damp repair centre East Sussex Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) on caravans, motorhomes, campervans, and related vehicles (“vehicle”) for the customer (“you”, “your”).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking work, delivering a vehicle to our workshop, or authorising repairs (verbally or in writing), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Estimates & Quotes
All estimates and quotes are based on initial inspection and information provided by the customer.
Estimates are not fixed prices unless explicitly stated in writing.
Additional work may be required once repairs commence. We will make reasonable efforts to contact
you for approval before proceeding.
If we cannot reach you and the additional work is necessary for safety or completion, we may proceed
up to a reasonable additional cost, of £150.
3. Authorisation to Carry Out Work
By authorising work, you:
Confirm you are the owner of the vehicle or authorised by the owner.
Grant permission for us to carry out inspection, testing, repairs and ordering parts where required.
Acknowledge that some faults may only become apparent once work has begun.
4. Parts & Materials
New, reconditioned, or aftermarket parts may be used unless otherwise agreed.
Parts replaced during repairs may be retained or disposed of unless you request their return before work
begins.
We are not responsible for delays caused by parts availability or supplier issues.
An additional charge will be added for disposable of fridges, ovens, awnings.
5. Payment Terms
Payment is due in full upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to request a deposit before commencing work.
Vehicles will not be released until full payment has been received.
Late payments may incur additional charges.
6. Storage & Abandoned Vehicles
Vehicles must be collected within 3 days of notification that work is complete.
Storage fees of £25 +vat per day may apply after this period.
Vehicles left uncollected for an extended period may be treated as abandoned and disposed of or sold to
recover costs, in accordance with applicable law.
7. Warranties & Guarantees
Workmanship is warranted for 12 months from the date of completion, unless stated otherwise.
Parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only.
Warranty does not cover:
o Fair wear and tear
o Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accident
o Issues arising from customer-supplied parts
o Consequential or indirect damage
o If the vehicle is loaned/hired or sold to trade or public.
8. Customer-Supplies Parts
We do not provide warranty on customer-supplied parts.
We are not responsible for the suitability, quality, or compatibility of customer-supplied parts.
Additional labour costs caused by faulty or incorrect customer-supplied parts will be chargeable.
9. Liability
We will take reasonable care of your vehicle while it is in our possession.
We are not responsible for:
o Pre-existing damage
o Items left in the vehicle
o Loss or damage caused by factors outside our control
Our liability is limited to the cost of the work carried out by us, to the extent permitted by law.
We are committed to ensuring protection of all personal information that we hold, and to provide and
protect all data. We recognise our obligations in updating and expanding this program to meet the
requirements of the UK GDPR. We are dedicated to safeguarding the personal information under our
control; and maintaining a system that meets our obligations under the new rules.
It is your responsibility to have the vehicle insured; we are not insured for fire and theft, or if the
vehicle is left parked outside our workshop. We will not be held responsible for any lost or damage of
personal belongings. Vehicles should arrive empty before work commences.
10. Delays & Timeframes
Completion times are estimates only.
We are not liable for delays caused by parts availability, third parties, weather, or unforeseen
complications.
11. Health & Safety
Customers must follow all workshop safety instructions.
Access to workshop areas may be restricted for safety reasons.
Children and pets must be supervised at all times.
12. Complaints
Any concerns or complaints must be raised as soon as possible via telephone or email. We will try to
resolve any issues of concern, with empathy and professionalism. We have the right to try and resolve
the complaint first before further action is taken.
We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes fairly and in a realistic time frame.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject
to the jurisdiction of its courts.
14. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply.
